Developing Intuition
Here are some ideas for developing intuition. Intuition is your inner guidance, and it's practical. Your intuition can guide your food choices, direct you to healing, new ideas and opportunities. It's a great ally, your sixth sense, and empowers you to trust yourself.
Often we give away our power to experts. I think it's best to listen to experts, and to let your body wisdom have the final say. You know what is right for you!
What are the keys to developing intuition? I've been listening to some lectures by Sonia Choquette and Carol Look. Sonia teaches psychic/intuitive awareness, and Carol Look is an energy healer. These are wise women we can learn from! Here is what I learned from Sonia Choquette: Intuition is our inner teacher who comes from our spirit. We need our intuition to be our best self. How can we be more intuitive? --- Realize that intuition is real. Science has proven the power of intuition. -- Choose a state of Wonder. Wonder opens up our playful spirit and magic. Say "I wonder..." I wonder what fun I'll have today? I wonder where I will be guided? I wonder what miracle will come today? ---Ask your intuition for answers. Close you eyes, put your hand on your heart, and say "my intuition says..." It will speak to you. Trust what comes up. ---Trust your hunches. We don't need to know how it works. Say: I choose to trust what Life is telling me. ---Movement shakes us out of our left brain and analysis. Music helps, too. Intuition comes when you move. When you feel stuck, dance! --Let go and trust. The number one reason we can't access our intuition it that we are controlling! We think we know it all. But the universe is big, wide, deep and amazing. Open to it all. ---If you have a choice to make, speak it out loud. Then feel in your body. Do you feel a constricted tight feeling? Or an open relaxed feeling? Is it a yuck or a yum? ---Be silent. Meditation calms the mind and opens us up to receive impressions. It also reduces anxiety. ---Play with your guidance. Close your eyes, put your hand on your heart and say: If I weren't afraid, i would...Let your heart answer, uncensored. ---Create with sound and song Sonya likes to sing " this little light of mine." Be childlike and open. Sing devotional or inspirational songs.
Notes on developing intuition from EFT Master Carol Look: Being quiet allows you access to your heart's wisdom. Being quiet actually helps you solve the problems that are taking up so much of your energy. Taking time to be still gets your body's rhythms back in sync. You will feel more calm, centered and strong. Taking time to be quiet and listen to your internal wisdom raises your vibration immediately. Being quiet allows you to access your creative voice. Allowing yourself to be quiet gives you emotional relief from the daily static and stress of life. Thank you, universe for allowing me to access the wisdom of my heart!
what I have learned about developing intuition: The voice of intuition is soft. You get a nudge that it's time to rest, breathe, be quiet, or check out something. Listen on the small things to develop your intuitive muscle. For a big decision, I ask my higher self for a sign in my daily life. Signs can be an image, an animal, something someone says to me, an article or book, a song, a road sign, anything! The challenge is to trust your intuition. Our culture doesn't value intuition. But many great leaders, artists, and visionaries rely on their intuition. Keep reminding yourself that this is real! Listen for the inner aha! Go where the fun, bliss, and joy lead you. Even if it's scary. Life is an adventure. Stay open and aware. Breathe! Ask a question before you go to bed, and you may get an answer in the morning. Or, Ask a question in your journal and just write until the answer comes. Have a spiritual practice. Develop a trust in your wiser Self. Play with angels! Listen to your body. It will give you a yes or a no. Yes is relaxing and open, no is contraction and tightness. Being in nature, barefoot on the ground, feeling the sun, and hearing water flow helps with developing intuition. Try it!
