Healthy Weight Loss Tips
These healthy weight loss tips can motivate you. They are more fun than strict diets and counting calories! I think it's best to avoid the scale. You are more than a number, and we obsess over our numbers. Instead, go with how your body feels.
1. Choose mustard over mayo. There's less fat in mustard, and mustard contains turmeric, which is good for your liver and digestion. Also most commercial mayo is full of trans fats. Mustard is better.
2. Use apple cider vinegar. It can be part of a homemade dressing, or just drink 1-2 tsp in water. Apple cider vinegar has been shown to lower the glycemic index of meals, which prevents overeating. I like to use Bragg's apple cider vinegar, since it is an unpasteurized, fermented food, and good for the intestines. 3. Drink enough pure water. Sometimes when we feel hungry, we are really just thirsty. Carry a water bottle with you in the car as you run errands. 4. Eat soup. Research shows that soup controls appetite and prevents overeating. Add in lots of vegetables. Soup is low in calories and high in fiber to fill you up. 5. Use quality oils, nuts and seeds in small amounts. These help you feel full and satisfied. 7. Reduce sugar. Sugar messes up your blood sugar and keeps you hungry. Sugar robs your body of valuable minerals. I use stevia, the herb sweetener, that has no blood sugar effects. I also use apple sauce as a sweetener. 8. Plan your snacks. Try apples, nuts, guacamole, sushi rolls, healthy muffins, bean salads, etc. These will help you stay away from greasy chips and sugary pastries. 9. Always eat breakfast. This healthy weight loss tip is super important. This sets your metabolism for the day. I find that if I skip breakfast, I overeat in the afternoon, every time! If you just are not very hungry, or in a hurry, try my next tip. 10. Try a green drink and or a whey powder. Be sure to choose a quality product that has no added sugars. I also avoid isolated soy protein in powders. Greens help the digestion of fats and oils. I use the brand Amazing Grass. I love it! I also use a Whey Powder from Quantum Nutrition. Whey gives you digestible protein, builds lean muscle and boosts immunity. 11. Eat good, solid meals in peace. Have lots of produce, healthy fats, a small amount of protein, and a whole grain or starchy vegetable. Eat complete meals when you can. 12. Reduce wheat, dairy and sugar. These foods build your body. instead of wheat, try rice, millet and quinoa. I use tahini instead of dairy for creamy sauces. I use stevia and fruit instead of sugar. Try some new things. 13. Try digestive enzymes and hcl, especially if you are over 40. This healthy weight loss tip will help your digestion. So these are some healthy weight loss tips to explore. Mostly, eat real food, high quality food and love your body. Love your body as it is now. You are beautiful!
